New York -- Crude oil prices dropped to less than $129 per barrel Tuesday in New York, although the pump price for unleaded gasoline remained high.
U.S. gasoline prices have risen to within 0.064 cents of the $4 per gallon mark. Oil prices dropped on a stronger dollar and no negative supply news to push prices.
On Tuesday on the New York Mercantile Exchange, crude oil prices fell $4.17 to cents to $128.70 per barrel.
The price of heating oil fell 0.0076 cents in late trading to $3.7916 per gallon.
Reformulated blendstock gasoline fell 0.004 cents to $3.379 per gallon. Natural gas prices rose 0.002 cents to $11.803 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the national average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline reached a record $3.937, up from Monday's price of $3.936, AAA said.
