Sampson hired as Bucks assistant coach

Milwaukee -- Kelvin Sampson, forced to resign as coach of the Indiana Hoosiers in the midst of the 2007-2008 season, will join the Milwaukee Bucks as an assistant.

Bucks General Manager John Hammond announced Wednesday that Sampson, Jim Boylan, Lionel Hollins and Joe Wolf had been hired as assistants to Scott Skiles.

The NCAA released a list of allegations against the Indiana program Feb. 13, including a series of telephone recruiting calls made by Sampson that were violations of college basketball guidelines.

Sampson has never held a coaching position in the NBA. He was in his second season with Indiana when he resigned.

His 25-year collegiate coaching career included 12 seasons at Oklahoma. His career record is 498-272.
