New York -- British actor Ben Barnes said it wasn't difficult being the new guy in the second "Chronicles of Narnia" movie because his co-stars were so friendly.

Georgie Henley, Skandar Keynes, William Moseley and Anna Popplewell played the Pevensie siblings in "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe," then returned for a second film "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian," due in theaters May 16.

Barnes, who plays Caspian, Keynes and Henley are also to return for a third "Narnia" fantasy -- "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader."

Asked how it felt to join a cast knowing some of his co-stars' characters aren't in the next film, Barnes told UPI, "They were all sort of very affectionate and warm. ...

"The two youngest will be back next time, which I think is great. ... But I think it was hard for William and Anna, actually. Anna was a little emotional sitting next to me (at the screening) at the end. And William, certainly, on the day we filmed him handing over the sword, he found it very difficult to let go of that," Barnes quipped. "He had a pretty tight grip on that. But he did sort of say, 'Look after them,' which was really nice."
