Hollywood -- U.S. crooner Glen Campbell is set to release a new studio album called "Meet Glen Campbell" this summer, Capitol/EMI said.
The famed singer, who has been making records for five decades, is to premiere select songs from his new album at the Stagecoach Festival in Indio, Calif. Friday.
"Meet Glen Campbell" is set for release Aug. 19 on CD and limited edition vinyl, as well as in digital format.
The album includes covers of the following songs: "Jesus" by the Velvet Underground; "All I Want Is You" by U2; "Times Like These" by Foo Fighters; "Grow Old With Me" by John Lennon; "Angel Dream" by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers; "Sadly Beautiful" by The Replacements; "Sing" by Travis; "These Days" by Jackson Browne; "Walls (Circus)" by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers and "Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)" by Green Day.
"I really like all of the songs and I had a great time recording them. While I didn't write these songs, this sounds like a Glen Campbell album, which is important to me," Campbell said in a statement.
