New York -- Crude oil prices jumped on the New York Mercantile Exchange Monday despite gains by the dollar.
Crude prices rose $1.07 in early trading to $107.30 per barrel. The price of heating oil gained 0.0508 cents to $3.0429 per gallon. The price of reformulated blendstock gasoline rose 0.0063 cents to $2.7631 per gallon. Natural gas prices gained 0.138 cents to $9.46 per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the average price for a gallon of unleaded gasoline in the United States reached a record $3.339 Monday, up from Sunday's price of $3.324.
