Burbank, Calif. -- A bench warrant was issued for the arrest of Shia LaBeouf after he failed to appear in a California court to face a charge he violated a smoking ordinance.
LaBeouf, 21, best known for his roles in "Disturbia" and "Transformers" appears in "Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull," which debuts May 22.
The New York Daily News said he was given a ticket last month for allegedly smoking a cigarette on the street of a Burbank shopping district in violation of a local ordinance.
He was scheduled to answer the charge in court, but missed the date, so a bench warrant was issued for his arrest Tuesday, the report said.
The actor's publicist declined to comment on the bench warrant, other than to say LaBeouf doesn't have legal representation for such matters, the newspaper said.
