New York -- Columbia Records has said it is teaming up with Adele's worldwide label to release the British teen soul singer's debut album "19" in the United States.
The XL Recordings CD is set to drop this summer in the United States through a joint venture with Columbia.
XL released the U.K. edition of "19" on Jan. 28 and it entered the U.K. album chart at No. 1.
The 19-year-old singer became a sensation in England after "Hometown Glory," her autobiographical ode to London, proved to be a hit with reviewers and music fans last fall.
Late last year Adele was the first recipient of the Brit Awards' Critics Choice prize, which is presented to the year's most significant artist who, at that time, had yet to release an album, Columbia said.
Since establishing her MySpace page on New Year's Eve 2004, Adele has received more than 2 million profile views and 2.2 million plays of her songs, the label noted.
