Washington -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of about 1.3 million MagnaMan-brand magnetic toy figures due to a safety hazard.
The CPSC said the Chinese-made toys, imported by Mega Brands America Inc. of Livingston, N.J., contain small magnets that can detach and be swallowed or aspirated by children, presenting a potentially fatal hazard.
The recalled MagnaMan magnetic toys are figures that have body parts that attach with magnets. They come in either a "Futuristic Warrior" or "Ancient Warrior" theme. Being recalled are model numbers 28170, 28171, 28327, 28172, 28175, 28173, 28393, 28164, 28392, 28165, 28327, 28166, 28254, 28199 and 28167. The model number is printed on the front of the product's packaging.
The toys were sold nationwide from January 2005 through December 2007 for about $10.
Consumers can contact the company at 800-779-7122 for additional information or to obtain return instructions for complete refunds. A list of all the recalled figures is available at
