New York -- Crude oil prices fell slightly, to $108.60 a barrel, Wednesday on the New York Mercantile Exchange but only after pushing record heights overnight.
In electronic trading, oil peaked at $108.75 per barrel, then dropped slightly, down 15 cents to $108.60 per barrel.
The price of heating oil also dropped 0.0101 cents per gallon to $2.9856 per gallon.
Reformulated blendstock gasoline prices dipped 0.0099 cents to $2.7162 per gallon.
Natural gas prices fell 0.063 cents to $9.937 cents per million British thermal units.
At the pump, the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report said the national average price of a gallon of unleaded reached a record $3.246 per gallon, up from Tuesday's average price of $3.227 per gallon.
