Chinese-made Toys are Recalled

Washington -- The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced the recall of X Force Commander and Super Famous-brand toys due to excessive levels of lead.

The CPSC said the paint on the approximately 5,000 recalled Chinese-made toys, contains amounts of lead that violate the federal lead paint standard.

The recalled X Force Commander toy airplanes and Super Famous toy cars and motorcycles were sold at Dollar Stores nationwide from September 2006 through November 2007 for about $1.

The "X Force Commander" is a set of six plastic jet airplanes. Item number 5689 is printed on the front of the packaging and the airplanes are painted green, red, blue, silver, black and yellow.

The "Super Famous" is a set of a plastic toy car and a motorcycle. The car is yellow or red and the motorcycle is gray.
