St. Louis -- Quarterback Trent Green signed a three-year Monday with the St. Louis Rams.
Green originally joined the Rams in 1999 as an unrestricted free agent and was expected to be their starting quarterback. But he suffered a season-ending knee injury and it was Kurt Warner who led the team to a Super Bowl championship.
Green was traded in 2000 to Kansas City, where he spent the next six seasons. Last year, as a member of the Miami Dolphins, he suffered a severe concussion that threatened his career. In a recent visit to St. Louis, Green went through a series of tests that apparently revealed he is in good health.
Green, 37, has thrown for 27,950 yards with 162 touchdowns in his NFL career. He is expected to back up starter Marc Bulger in the 2008 season.
