New York -- American Idol winner singer Jordin Sparks has announced she will open for Alicia Keys on Keys' upcoming, North American

New York -- American Idol winner singer Jordin Sparks has announced she will open for Alicia Keys on Keys' upcoming, North American "As I Am" concert tour.

Sparks, who won the Outstanding New Artist award at the 39th NAACP Image Awards Thursday night, will help kick off the Alicia Keys tour April 19 in Hampton, Va.

The 30-date tour -- which includes gigs in Philadelphia, Chicago, Minneapolis, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dallas, Toronto, Montreal and Washington -- is scheduled to wrap in New York June 18.
