NEW YORK-- Hollywood actor Ernie Hudson has confirmed he will reprise his "Ghostbusters" role in a new video game inspired by the movie franchise.

The star of the film "Everything's Jake" and the HBO show "Oz" played Winston Zeddemore in two big-screen "Ghostbusters" comedies, co-starring with Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Sigourney Weaver.

"They asked me some time ago," Hudson told UPI when asked if he was planning to participate in the new "Ghostbusters" video game. "I'm really excited about that because when they came out with the cartoon (TV series,) none of us did the cartoon and I kind of regretted that because then I thought, 'It would have been fun to do it.' So, I'm glad that the game is happening. There are tons of fans who ask about this. Every day, I get people wanting to know: 'When? When?' So, the game is great. That's real. That's happening. And I hear everybody signed on to do it."

The "Ghostbusters" gang might also reunite for another sequel.

"Danny Aykroyd and Harold Ramis, I know they want to do another film," Hudson said. "It would be great if we could get back together again."
