Chicago -- Singer R. Kelly vowed to make it to his next Chicago court date for his child pornography case after he missed a scheduled appearance Wednesday.
Kelly is accused of filming himself having sex with a girl believed to have been 13 or 14 years old at the time.
His lawyer, Ed Genson, said the performer missed Wednesday's court date after he was "detained because of some snow" while returning from a performance in Sacramento, the Chicago Sun-Times reported.
Kelly's tour bus was then stopped by police in Utah who insisted that the driver take a mandatory eight-hour rest stop before going any further, the recording artist said in a statement.
Kelly, who is in the middle of a nationwide concert tour, said the appearance was rescheduled for Thursday and he planned to be there. He also said that, contrary to reports, no arrest warrant was issued regarding the incident.
However, the judge presiding over the case, did say that if Kelly didn't appear in court Thursday, a warrant would be issued, the statement confirmed.
