Hollywood -- "Atonement" led the field with seven Golden Globe nominations when nods for the prizes were announced Thursday in Hollywood.
"Charlie Wilson's War" grabbed five nominations.
The nominees for best drama film are "American Gangster," "Atonement," "Eastern Promises," "The Great Debaters," "Michael Clayton," "No Country for Old Men" and "There Will Be Blood."
Nominated in the best musical or comedy movie category are "Across the Universe,"
"Charlie Wilson's War," "Hairspray," "Juno" and "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street."
Shortlisted for the prize for best performance by an actress in a drama film are Cate Blanchett, Julie Christie, Jodie Foster, Angelina Jolie and Keira Knightley.
Competing for the equivalent award for actor in a drama film are George Clooney, Daniel Day-Lewis, James McAvoy, Viggo Mortenson and Denzel Washington.
Grabbing nominations for best performance by an actor in a musical or comedy film are Johnny Depp, Ryan Gosling, Tom Hanks, Philip Seymour Hoffman and John C. Reilly.
Up for the Golden Globe for best performance by an actress in a musical or comedy film are Amy Adams, Nikki Blonsky, Helena Bonham Carter, Marion Cotillard and Ellen Page.
