New York -- U.S. stocks opened flat Friday despite a healthy jobs report that failed to extend the recent market rally.
The Dow Jones industrial average rose 82 cents, or 0.1 percent, at 13,620.71 in early trading. The Nasdaq composite was down 6.36, or 0.23 percent, at 2,702.67. The S&P 500 was down 0.83, or 0.06 percent, at 1,506.51.
Crude-oil futures fell 16 cents to $90.07 a barrel.
Bonds declined. The 10-year Treasury note fell 9/32 to yield 4.053 percent Friday.
The dollar was mixed. The euro traded at $1.4639 from $1.4627 late Thursday, while the dollar changed at 111.67 yen from 111.31 yen late Thursday.
Overseas, Tokyo's Nikkei 225 picked up 0.52 percent to close at 15,956.
In U.S. economic news, the Labor Department said that November non-farm payrolls rose 94,000, down from October's 170,000 gain, which was revised higher by 4,000 jobs. The unemployment rate was unchanged last month at 4.7 percent.
