D.L. Hughley to host Critics' awards

New York -- Actor and comedian D.L. Hughley has signed on to preside over the upcoming "13th Annual Critics' Choice Awards," at the Santa Monica, Calif., Civic Auditorium.

The stand-up comedian starred in "The Original Kings of Comedy," as well as "The Hughleys" and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip."

The gala honoring the year's achievements in cinema is slated to take place Jan. 7 and air on cable outlet VH1.

Presenters and special guests will be announced as they are confirmed and award nominees will be revealed in a news conference Dec. 11 on VH1, the network said.
