Kahne under investigation in Fla.by MT Bureau - November 20, 2007 - 1 comments
Homestead, Fla. -- Police in Homestead, Fla., are investigating a shoving incident involving Nextel Cup driver Kasey Kahne and a racetrack security guard. Several reports Saturday said Kahne knocked the security guard to the ground Friday night at the Homestead-Miami Speedway after his brother, Kale, was stopped at the course's gate and denied entrance because Kasey Kahne could not provide the proper credential. Police Capt. Tom Foglia said the security guard, whose name was not disclosed, complained his blood pressure had escalated, NASCAR.com reported. An emergency vehicle was called and the security guard was taken to the infield care center. "We are looking into the matter (and) the detective (involved) is handling it," Foglia said. "It was all a misunderstanding," Kasey Kahne said Saturday after practicing for Sunday's season-ending Ford 400 Nextel Cup race. The incident took place before Friday night's Craftsman Truck Series race. "We can't comment on that right now," said NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp. Copyright 2007 by United Press International.
