New York -- U.S. soap opera star Nathaniel Marston has been charged with assault after a brawl that injured four people, including an officer, the New York Post reported.
Marston, an ex-amateur boxer, plays Dr. Michael McBain on "One Life to Live."
He is accused of going on a rampage that left one man with a broken leg and three others, including a cop, bruised Sunday, the Post said.
Marston denied the charges, stating, "I was attacked by three people."
He added he "was happy to see the police" and "was mistakenly taken into custody as the attacker."
Zap2it.com said Marston had been in a taxi when he got out and argued with the driver then allegedly picked up a metal crate and attacked a bystander, Salavatore Cabibbo, who was nearby drinking a cup of coffee.
"He was crazed -- I don't know the guy from a hole in the wall," Cabibbo told the New York Daily News. "I've never seen anything like that."
A spokeswoman for his show declined to say whether any disciplinary action would be taken against Marston.
"We're conducting our own internal review," she told the Post.
Marston was charged with punching an ATM in 1999.
