Denver marathon offers free entry

Denver -- Organizers of the Denver Marathon announced Thursday that anyone who participated in the Chicago Marathon can run in the Denver event for free.

Both races are certified by USA Track & Field as a qualifier for next April's Boston Marathon, but times in the Chicago event were affected by brutal heat. One runner died in the race, held last Sunday.

The Denver race will be held next Sunday in temperatures that are not expected to reach 60 degrees.
