Los Angeles -- Hollywood actor Ben Stiller said his friend Owen Wilson is on the mend after reportedly attempting to take his own life last month, People.com reported.
"He's doing really well," Stiller told Ellen DeGeneres in an interview on her talk show set to air Friday.
"I sort of like to protect his privacy, 'cause I feel like it's his own thing," Stiller said. "But he's a really good friend of mine. He's an incredible guy and I wish him as everybody does, all the best."
Wilson and Stiller have worked together on "Meet the Parents," "The Royal Tenenbaums," "Starsky and Hutch," "Night at the Museum" and "The Cable Guy."
Wilson was also to appear in Stiller's upcoming comedy, "Tropic Thunder," but dropped out of the project after he was hospitalized in late August for what police called a suicide attempt.
Ben's father, Jerry Stiller, said he was "surprised" to hear of Wilson's troubles but said he was certain Wilson would "recover."
"I know that he'll put his life together," Jerry Stiller told People at the Hollywood premiere of his and his son's latest movie "The Heartbreak Kid."
