Abbott-made glucose meters may malfunctionGet original file (4KB)

Abbott Diabetes Care Inc. officials said the company's Precision Xtra, Optium, ReliOn, Ultima, Rite Aid and Kroger blood glucose meter displays might malfunction if the meter is dropped onto a hard surface. The malfunction might prevent a user from obtaining an accurate blood glucose reading, posing a risk of hypoglycemia or hyperglycemia.

Users of the meters who note the display screen is not working properly are advised to stop using their meter and contact Abbott at 877-844-4404.
