Ground beef recalled in New Englandby MT Bureau - September 6, 2007 - 0 comments
Washington -- The U.S. Food Safety and Inspection Service announced the recall of approximately 884 pounds of ground beef products due to possible contamination. The Fairbank Reconstruction Corp. -- doing business as Fairbank Farms of Ashville, N.Y. -- initiated the voluntary recall because the ground beef might be contaminated with E. coli bacteria, the U.S. Department of Agriculture service said. Being recalled were 1.33-pound trays of Shaw's ground round beef patties. Each package bears the establishment number "Est. 492" inside the USDA mark of inspection. Each label bears a time stamp between "17:05" and "17:25," as well as a date code of "243." The recalled ground beef was distributed to retail stores in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. -- Post new comment |
