London -- Soul singer Amy Winehouse has taken the stage at a London music event for the first time since her alleged drug overdose last month.
Although her struggle with addiction reportedly forced her to postpone a planned U.S. tour, the 23-year-old singer performed "Love is a Losing Game" at Britain's Mercury Music awards Tuesday, the Telegraph has reported.
The Klaxons, a three-piece band from south London, took the evening's prize for top album, an upset considering Winehouse and Bat For Lashes were the favorites to win.
They also beat albums by The View, Maps, The Young Knives, Fionn Regan, Quintet Basquiat Strings and The New Young Pony Club.
Winehouse was said to be extremely nervous and had to be pulled away from her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, before her performance.
Later, Winehouse confessed she was trying to deal with her problems but admitted she still didn't believe rehab was for her.
"I'm of the school of thought where, if you can't sort something out for yourself, no one can help you. You're a bit lost if you can't sort yourself out," she told the Daily Mirror.
