Federer defeats Roddick againby MT Bureau - September 6, 2007 - 0 comments
New York -- Roger Federer defeated Andy Roddick yet again Wednesday to move into the semifinals of the U.S. Open. Federer did not suffer a service break, but had to survive two tiebreaks in downing Roddick for the 14th time in 15 meetings, 7-6 (7-5), 7-6 (7-4), 6-2. The top-seeded Federer won the last four games of the match. Nikolay Davydenko will be Federer's next opponent as he seeks his 12th major championship and his fourth consecutive U.S. Open crown. Davydenko reached the semifinals with a 6-3, 6-3, 6-4 victory over Tommy Haas. Ferrer defeated Rafael Nadal to get to the quarterfinals in a match that began Tuesday and ended Wednesday. -- Post new comment |
