Phoenix -- Brian Giles hit two of San Diego's five home runs and Greg Maddux won for the first time in Arizona as the Padres won, 10-2, over the Diamondbacks.
Geoff Blum, Adrian Gonzalez and Kevin Kouzmanoff also homered for San Diego, which opened a one-game lead over Arizona in the National League West.
Maddux (11-9) allowed two runs on six hits, struck out five and did not walk a batter over 6 1/3 innings.
Eric Byrnes homered and tripled for the Diamondbacks, who have lost six of their last eight games. They still hold the top lead in the NL wild card race, three games ahead of Philadelphia and Los Angeles.
Arizona starter Micah Owings (6-8) allowed five runs on four hits in three innings.
