Winehouse drops V Festival, August toursby MT Bureau - August 17, 2007 - 0 comments
London -- Singer Amy Winehouse, citing health reasons, has pulled out this weekend's two-site V Festival in England, as well as canceled the rest of her August shows. "Amy Winehouse is putting all her touring commitments on hold until further notice in order to address her health issues," Tracey Miller, a representative for the singer, said in a statement. "Amy will now not be performing at this weekend's V Festival in Chelmsford and Staffordshire." The singer was hospitalized last week after an overdose of substances that reportedly included cocaine, ecstasy, ketamine and marijuana, the Guardian reported Friday. Despite published announcements that the "Rehab" singer was suffering from exhaustion, Winehouse was admitted to a drug rehabilitation center in Essex. Winehouse's husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, said she has "a few problems" but said is "determined to get well." Her North American tour is scheduled to begin in September.
