Los Angeles -- U.S. premium cable network HBO has wiped out David Milch's cryptic surfer drama "John From Cincinnati."

The season finale that aired Sunday night is the final ride for the drama that failed to catch on with viewers, The Hollywood Reporter said Tuesday.

Milch, whose critically hailed Western drama, "Deadwood" also went down the HBO tubes, will keep developing shows for the network under a contract good through August 2008.

HBO has yet to announce the fate of its other new series, "Flight of the Conchords," The Reporter said.

Deadwood

It seemed that this show wanted to be just like Deadwood with the casting and dialog, but there just wasn't anything in it to hold it together. They should really consider bringing back Deadwood, at least just for a conclusion, it was such a great show.
