Oakland, Calif. -- Michael Young went 5-for-5 and knocked in three runs Tuesday, powering the Texas Rangers past the slumping Oakland Athletics 11-4.
Kenny Lofton ended 3-for-5 with a triple and two runs scored for the Rangers, who have won three straight.
Robinson Tejeda, who was recalled from Class AAA before the game, started for Texas and went 4 2/3 frames, allowing three runs on four hits while walking six. Scott Eyre (3-3) picked up the victory in relief.
Oakland starter Chad Gaudin (8-5) tossed six innings, allowing five runs on eight hits while walking six and fanning four.
Jack Cust hit a two-run homer for the A's, who have lost nine straight.
