Image of Madonna appears at Italian homeby MT Bureau - June 28, 2007 - 1 comments
Rome -- Residents of the Italian village of Supino say they have seen the image of the Madonna on a local home's window, thanks to the sun's rays at sunset. Many living in the small village outside Rome said the image likely represents spiritual support for the world during a troubled time in its history, the Italian news agency ANSA reported Wednesday. "It's really incredible!" said a resident identified only as Angela. "There's too much wickedness and disease about and the Madonna wants to send signs to those who have forgotten her." News of the Madonna image has drawn visitors in from outside the town, but the local parish priest has cautioned the town not to get too carried away. "I don't know anything about it apart from some gossip in the town," said the Rev. Antonio Beni. "I'm very skeptical about such events and I haven't gone to the house just to gawk." The town was a tourist destination in the 1980s when the face of Jesus Christ was reported to have been seen in a window, ANSA said. Copyright 2007 by United Press International. Post new comment |
