Los Angeles -- Southern California has its own band of ghost hunters who search for spirits and other paranormal activity in the area.
The Orange County Ghost Hunters, formed two years ago, are a group of friends who deploy high-tech equipment to investigate haunted spots around Southern California, The Orange County Register reported Sunday.
"There have been stories," said Hilber Graf, 51, standing in the Evergreen Cemetery in Riverside County. "People claim they have heard things, seen a figure -- typical cemetery stuff."
The Orange County Ghost Hunters have investigated cemeteries, abandoned mental institutions and troubled homes, among other places.
The group uses digital thermometers to search for cold spots -- a sign of paranormal activity. The group also looks for humid spots because humidity could skew readings, the Register said.
One member of the group described herself as a spiritual person, but said ghost hunting is really only a fun, unique hobby.
