Giambi faces a deadline on steroids issueby MT Bureau - June 21, 2007 - 0 comments
New York -- Jason Giambi has until Thursday to make a decision about when to face a committee investigating the steroids issue. The deadline for the New York Yankees' designated hitter was set by Commissioner Bud Selig. Several reports Wednesday said the union and MLB officials were still discussing the parameters under which Giambi would meet with members of Mitchell's committee. Giambi currently is sidelined by a left foot injury. Last month, Giambi told USA Today about his steroid use in the past. This year, he has been negotiating with the union to obtain medical documents and player interviews, but has had little success. Copyright 2007 by United Press International. Post new comment |
