Wimbledon, England -- World No. 1 Roger Federer, who won the 2007 Australian Open and was second at the French Open, was installed Wednesday as the top men's seed at Wimbledon.
Federer is seeking to become the first man to win five consecutive Wimbledon titles since Bjorn Borg turned the trick in 1976-80.
He hasn't played since losing the French Open final to Rafael Nadal in four sets, so Wimbledon will mark his first grass-court tournament of the year.
Nadal is seeded second t Wimbledon. He lost to Federer -- again in four sets -- in last year's Wimbledon title match.
World No. 3 Andy Roddick, who has lost two finals to Federer at Wimbledon, is seeded third this year and Novak Djokovic is fourth. The second tier of seeds include: No. 5 Fernando Gonzales, No. 6 Nikolay Davydenko, No. 7 Tomas Berdych and No. 8 Andy Murray.
Wimbledon, tennis's third grand slam event of the year, runs June 25-July 8.
