Jail more like The Hilton with Paris

Los Angeles -- Inmates at the Los Angeles jail where Paris Hilton is being held reportedly have been treated better since the heiress arrived to serve her sentence.

Los Angeles -- Inmates at the Los Angeles jail where Paris Hilton is being held reportedly have been treated better since the heiress arrived to serve her sentence.

Soraya Lopez, 35, said she was released from the Century Regional Detention Center early just because Hilton is there, Teen Hollywood reported Sunday.

Lopez also said other prisoners are getting privileges because of the spotlight on the jail since the heiress arrived.

"The whole facility is benefiting from her -- we all thank her," said Lopez.
"She's the talk of the jail -- I'd call her the top dog. People are getting fed more and inmates like me are being let out sooner because they don't want people around her."

Paris

I would like to know what the charge and conviction for Soraya Lopez was? As well as others that have been released early since the arrival of Paris Hilton at jail. Are we releasing folks doing time for crimes worse than driving on a suspended license while not drunk? Did we release someone found guilty of assault or dealing drugs to kids so that we could keep Paris in a cell? If so what does that say about us as a society because we certainly must know that Paris is only there because we as a society refused to let the Sheriff send her to house arrest.
