New Delhi -- Employees of the state-owned Indian Airlines called off their strike, opening the door for the resumption of normal service.
J.K. Badola, Air Corporation Employees' Union general secretary, said the union demands have been met, Hindustan Times reported Thursday. The union sought higher wages and promotions comparable to the country's flagship carrier, Air India.
Details of the settlement were not known.
About 12,000 employees walked off their jobs Tuesday, but ended the strike Thursday. The Delhi High Court Wednesday called the strike illegal.
