Grapevine is replete with rumors that Apple Inc is working on releasing as many as three iPhone devices this year. If the rumors bear even an iota of truth, Apple may be on the verge of taking the global smartphone rivalry to a whole new level.
Citing Apple suppliers, multiple sources like The Commercial Times of Taiwan and China Times have fanned the rumors of multiple iPhone getting released this year. Buzz has it that two of the three phones can be released as early as June this year.
Apple may release the 4.8-inch iPhone Math and the 4-inch iPhone 5S in the markets by the end of June. Both these smartphones are said to feature 8-megapixel cameras. The choice of the name 'Math' is unusual for the fact that why would the company name its phone like that.
The reports regarding 4.8-inch iPhone suggest something quite interesting. Apple is lagging behind its competitors when it comes to big smartphones. While most of them are either working behind the scenes on 5-inch smartphones or have already release one, Apple's iPhone with 4-inch screen comes nowhere near them.
Apple's own stocks and those of its suppliers nosedived few days back when it was reported that it is cutting screen orders due to less than anticipated demand.
Bright Wire has even released the schedule for the devices. “The shipments for components, including touchscreens and cameras, will start rising significantly in March, and iPhone manufacturers will begin production in late April. Hence, Apple's suppliers will see major growth in 2Q 2013,” says a report.
Orders have been placed for cameras, touchscreens, connectors, molding parts, and printed circuit boards and other components. Foxconn Technology will supply a big chunk of the molding parts, while manufacturers like Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. Ltd, and Largan will supply the other components.
