Much hyped Medal of Honor Warfighter release approaches

Medal of Honor Warfighter, one of the most awaited games, is due to be released on Tuesday.

One of the most popular console games based on first person shooting, 'Medal of Honor', is due to be released on Tuesday for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC and on Wii U in the near future.

Medal of Honor has been the trendsetter when it comes to first person shooter games. It debuted in 1999 and set the stage for the games to come. In fact, Call of Duty rose from the ashes of Medal of Honor when the franchise had supposedly lost its way.

The game was re-released in the year 2010 in a more contemporary setting, with a multiplayer component. Medal of Honor Warfighter will be the second game of the series and will truly be a force to reckon with.

Whether it trumps the leading game in the niche, 'Call of Duty', in terms of sales figures only time will tell, but it's going to be a smash-hit for sure. The game is already trending on the internet and avid gamers are awaiting its release with anticipation.

Little about Medal of Honor: Warfighter
One can take on enemy fighters in the single player mode or team up with fellow players on the internet to make the gameplay more interesting. The single player mode is set up in various locations including Somalia, Pakistan, Philippines and Bosnia.

The two main playable characters are Preacher, protagonist of earlier versions of Medal of Honor and Stump, a US Navy Seal. One may choose among six different classes of warfare, including Spec Ops, Heavy Gunner, Point Man, Demolitions, Sniper and Assault.

Recent global events have a profound impact on the direction in which the game heads. For instance, missions are based on diverse events like rescuing hostages in the Philippines, attacking a pirate town in Somalia and preventing rogue elements from smuggling PETN explosives into the US.
