Asus Padfone-Smartfone, Tablet and Netbook all in one !

Asus Padfone-Smartfone, Tablet and Netbook all in one is here to dazzle the Indian users!

Asus India annouced the company's jump in the relatively new market of Smartphones cum notebooks with the launch of their latest product Padfone (that comes with a detachable transformation pad) here in Bangalore.

This 3-in-1 product works as a smartphone, tablet as well as a notebook (netbook-as Asus calls it) in different adjustable modes. In the standalone mode it works as a smartphone that runs on Android 4.0 and supports all the associated applications. The smartphone is supported with a gleaming 4.3 inch (960x540) display.

On attaching it with the Padfone station, it works as a tablet device with a 10.1 inch (1280 x 800) display. The tablet supports 63 hours of uninterrupted talk-time. The makers claim that the device is enabled to switch amongst different display modes by itself.

Salient Features
The entire device package is supported by 1.5ghz Dual-core Snapdragon processor and enjoys upto 32GB of data storage.

It comes loaded with 1GB RAM and 8.2 digital camera with Fuji image processor, F2.2 aperture and 5-element lens. With adequate battery back up, the device box includes Bluetooth headsets. The stylus shall make it convenient to pick and shut calls.

Budding Competition
While the company proclaims this device as the first of its kind, the Chinese market is already overflowing with Transfone that provides similar features and at a very less price (in comparison to that of Padfone) of approx. $500.

Padfone may have to face stiff competition if Transfone enters the Indian markets. Padfone has been made available for users at a starting price of INR 64,900.
