The iPhone 4S has a super charged 8-megapixel camera, 1080p video recording, an improved optics system, a longer battery life and Siri, a new intelligent voice-control system.
It looks like Apple has another winner on its hands with the iPhone 4S.
Though the official unveiling of iPhone 4S was somewhat lukewarm, since many expected the iPhone 5 with a brand new format, demand for the latest smartphone nevertheless appears to be very strong.
The US carrier AT&T Wireless announced late Friday that it had received 200,000 iPhone 4S pre-orders on its first day of sale.
The company said in a statement, "AT&T has seen extraordinary demand for iPhone 4S with more than 200,000 preorders in the first 12 hours alone, the most successful iPhone launch we've ever had.”
The iPhone 4S supports an A5 chip that promises twice the speed and makes graphics seven times faster than the old processor.
Improved version of iPhone 4
Apple introduced the IPhone 4S on Tuesday pricing it at $199, $299 and $399, depending on the features.
The new smartphone is basically an improved version of the existing iPhone4. It features the same external design as its predecessor but Apple has upgraded the hardware to improve performance.

AT&T, Verizon and Sprint offering iPhone 4S
Three of US largest carriers, AT&T, Verizon Wireless and Sprint Nextel Corp., began taking pre-orders for the iPhone 4S on Friday. Best Buy and RadioShack are also offering pre-orders.
Sprint vice president of product development Fared Adib stated, “We are very, very pleased with the initial first day of iPhone 4S pre-orders. Today’s sales and the overall customer experience greatly exceeded our expectations.”
A Verizon Wireless spokesman said "our systems were humming very strongly since 3 a.m.”
The iPhone 4S will hit the stores shelves simultaneously in the United States, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, and the United Kingdom on October 14.
