iPhone 5 to see far greater demand than its predecessors' -- survey

The upcoming new smartphone from Apple has garnered enough hype to be an instant hit.

If you thought that you’ve already seen quite a lot of demand for Apple’s iPhones, think again. A recent survey reveals that the iPhone frenzy this time is going to be even bigger, if we can put it that way.

A survey of around 2,000 potential buyers, done by ChangeWave research, has found that the demand for iPhone 5 is going to be much stronger than iPhone 4.

It simply means that more people are going to buy the iPhone 5 than those who bought iPhone 4.

iPhone 5 frenzy
The survey conducted by ChangeWave research last month was found that up to 31 percent of consumers who were planning to buy a new phone for themselves consider buying the iPhone.

In a similar survey for iPhone 4, 12 percent had seen it as “very likely” while 13 percent had said it was “somewhat likely”.

The data clearly shows that the hype around iPhone 5, and the great reception that iPhone 4 received is motivating more and more consumers to consider buying Apple’s upcoming smartphone.

It remains to be seen how iPhone 5 is received by consumers and tech enthusiasts, but what is certain is that excitement is building up for Apple's upcoming smartphone.

No confirmation from Apple yet
The most startling fact is that Apple has not even confirmed the news of an iPhone 5, or given out any significant details as to what features we can reasonably expect.

Industry insiders believe that iPhone 5 will have the new iOS 5, greater RAM, and a better antenna.

Experts say that the numbers put out by the survey might be a consequence of the gap between iPhone 4 and iPhone 5. iPhone 4 was released over a year ago, close to 15 months.

In terms of the pace at which mobile technology is moving these days, you can say that’s close to a lifetime.

The trick of waiting for the hype to build is a clever one adopted by Apple. Some critics have even gone so far as to say that Apple deliberately leaks out a few hints to gauge market demand for a product before launching one.

Another interesting tidbit related to iPhone 5 is that Sprint has announced that it would be offering unlimited data plans for its customers with iPhone 5.

It remains to be seen how iPhone 5 is received by consumers and tech enthusiasts, but what is certain is that excitement is building up for Apple's upcoming smartphone.
