A baby girl for Kate Hudson?

The 'Something Borrowed' actress already has a 7-year-old son from her ex-husband and is once again expecting a baby this summer with boyfriend Matt Bellamy.

The pendulum prediction
Though adamant on keeping the sex of her baby a surprise, Kate is still quite sure she will be welcoming a beautiful baby girl as per the prediction made by the pendulum reading.

The process of the pendulum follows holding a suspended pendant over the belly. This practice is said to reveal the gender of an unborn baby by interpreting the hovering object's pattern of movement.

In a recent interview, Hudson said, "So here's the pendulum test. You take a piece of your hair, and you take a ring…and you string it through--this is very witchy of me! And then what you do, is you hold it over your stomach. And then [if it moves in a] circle, [it's] a girl, and a boy goes back and forth."

Hudson says she performed the reading with her previous pregnancy, and it successfully predicted her son Ryder's gender. However, the test is simply an "old wives' tale" and has no medical bearing whatsoever.

Expectations for a healthy baby
The actress admits that she is keeping the gender of the unborn child a surprise is not going too well with boyfriend and 'Muse' front man Matt Bellamy.

She stated, "My boyfriend wants to know, but I've convinced him how nice it is not to have expectations of what it is. It's hard because you go to a store and you see a little outfit, and it's like a little tiny skirt and you're like, 'Ahhhh! We can't buy it, we gotta wait.'

"The only expectation that you have is for it to be a healthy baby and then you meet it instead of knowing."

Going strong with Matt Bellamy
Kate, who has been linked with Owen Wilson, Lance Armstrong and Alex Rodriguez since the end of her marriage in 2006 to Chris Robinson, met Matt, 32, at the Coachella music festival in April last year.

After much speculation in the press, Kate Hudson in January announced that she is expecting a baby with British rocker.

Summer baby
The actress is cautious not reveal the date of her child’s delivery to avoid the excessive media attention.

She explains, "I don't want to talk about my due date because I have enough weirdos following me around. I'm around seven months pregnant. So, summer baby."
