LiLo to be charged with felony in necklace theft

Lindsay is due to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon on a felony grand theft charge that could land the starlet behind the slammer rather than the big screen.

As speculated over the weekend, Lindsay Lohan would be charged with one count of felony grand theft of a $2,500 necklace reported stolen from a jewelry store last month.

The troubled Hollywood singer-actress is said to have stolen a necklace from a high-end jewelry store. She was investigated by Los Angeles police after receiving report of the theft from the Venice boutique.

Is LiLo a jewel thief?
Kamofie & Co., a Venice custom jewelry store, reported the necklace stolen on Jan. 22.

In the complaint, the Southern California jewelry store owner claimed that Lindsay was wearing the $2,500 necklace that soon disappeared from the store.

The store’s video surveillance footage supposedly shows 'The Mean Girls' star wearing the necklace immediately before it went missing last month, as reported by TMZ previously.

LiLo due in court for an arraignment
Lindsay is due to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon on a felony grand theft charge that could land the starlet behind the slammer rather than the big screen, according to Washington Post.

The felony grand theft charge is the latest and most serious legal problem the 24-year-old Hollywood actress has faced in more than three years of trouble with the law.

Lindsay probed for alleged necklace theft
Last Wednesday Los Angeles Police Department officials took Lohan under investigation for allegedly stealing a necklace from the Venice custom jewelry store.

Police last week obtained a search warrant to try to retrieve the necklace from Lohan's house, but before the detectives could be able to serve the warrant, a Lohan associate turned the precious necklace over to the Pacific Division police station, the Los Angeles Times reported earlier.

LiLo denies stealing any necklace
An on and off rehab visitor LiLo, who remains on probation for a 2007 drunken driving case, meanwhile, denied any wrongdoings, with the actress claiming that the store owner is "nuts" for suggesting that she stole the necklace.

The former Betty Ford Clinic resident Lohan is currently on supervised probation relating to a 2007 conviction for driving under the influence (DUI). The judge overseeing her case warned the actress in October that he would send her to jail for six months if she violated her probation rules.

LiLo left the Betty Ford Clinic a month ago after a three-month court-ordered drug rehabilitation program.
