Actor Shia Lebeouf was placed in handcuffs following an alleged bar fight this weekend in California, according to celebrity gossip website TMZ.com.
Shia was handcuffed briefly by police on Friday night after he reportedly got embroiled in a scuffle at a Los Angeles bar.
The brawl occurred at Mad Bulls Tavern in Sherman Oaks, CA, where Shia is a frequent patron, sources at the bar told TMZ.

Shia gets into bar fight
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sammy Cutler, who works at Mad Bull’s Tavern, confirmed that the 'Transformers' star was involved in an altercation with another bar patron around 1 a.m. Saturday morning.
Police were called to the Sherman Oaks after a fight reportedly broke out between the actor and another patron.
"There was an exchange of words [with another man] and Shia got punched in the face," THR quoted Cultler as saying.
Arrested briefly, eventually released
However, sources close to Shia told TMZ a different version of the story, claiming the actor was jumped on his way out of the bar.
The site’s sources also claim police arrived on scene shortly after the scuffle, handcuffed everyone involved before eventually letting Shia go.
Cops were not called to intervene
Meanwhile, a Mad Bull’s Tavern employee told Access Hollywood on Saturday that the police officers were not actually called to intervene. The LAPD just happened to be passing by and saw the the incident taking place.
“Shia came in to have a good time and happened to get into an infraction outside,” the employee said, adding that there were no arrests made.
Shia’s earlier legal troubles
This is not Shia’s first run-in with the law. The American actor and comedian was arrested in 2008 on suspicion of drunk driving in Hollywood. Drinking has got him in hot soup a number of times.
In November 2007, he was arrested in Downtown Chicago for allegedly trespassing in a discount store.
In February 2008, the actor was caught smoking in a non-smoking area in California, for which he later pled guilty and paid a $500 fine.
That same year, a video posted on YouTube showed the consistently drunk Shia joking around with some friends and using a homophobic slur.
