YouTube baby yoga video draws strong reactions

The video, which has scared the pants off many, shows a Russian women practicing, what she calls, the mother baby yoga, aimed at letting the mother and baby know each other.

Yoga and its benefits are known to all, but ever heard of 'baby yoga'? In case you haven't, check out the latest video on YouTube titled, 'Baby Yoga with Lena Fokina.'

The bizarre video, which has drawn outrage from parents across the nation, shows a a woman flinging around what happens to be a naked baby.

It is fast becoming the most trending topic, as viewers have been trying to determine whether it's real or hoax.

The footage, which lasts for 5 minutes shows a woman, apparently the yoga instructor Lena Fokina, gripping the infant's hands and foot and tossing it around her head and shoulders.

The video is not only on YouTube but it also appears on a Russian site, video.yandex.ru with the Google translated information.

It states, “At the the heart of the practice is a deep study of the postnatal physiology and emotional needs of mother and child.

“During the study the mother-child emotional bonds are formed, which constitute the foundation for future cooperation and the guarantee of a harmonious psychological development of the baby.”

Viewers react
The disturbing footage has drawn outrageous reactions from the viewers. The question on every one's mind is “Can this be real?”

Though many believe the baby swinging video to be fake, they have called the whole act shocking and disturbing.

For instance, a viewer named jaydaba8289 stated, “fake or not thats horrible that lady need help can you imaginesomebody doing that to a small infant.”

Another person named iolocska commented, “this woman should be prosecutedand sent to prison. I can't bare watching, this is clearly child abuse. This baby did not chose to DO YOGA.”

Fokina calls practice safe
With the video going viral on the internet and drawing strong reactions, DadWagon's Nathan Thornburgh interviewed Fokina who resides in Dahab, Egypt.

Fokina confirmed that the child is real. “Her name is Platona, and she was two weeks old when we took that video.”

Commenting on the disturbing reactions, she stated, that the practice doesn't harm the baby, and it is being practiced in Russia for years, and all children are alive and healthy.

Fokina added that Americans should also practice this at home “in order to pass something on to their children.”
