Hathaway has found new love in actor Adam Shulman, 29. The two were first spotted together in June 2009, and the actress insists “things sped up” once they made it official.
Anne Hathaway has gotten over her agonizing break-up with Raffaello Follieri, who pleaded guilty to 14 counts of money laundering, conspiracy and wire fraud. Now that it’s been two years, the actress has learned to joke about it, as she concurrently discusses trust issues and the status of her new relationship.
Beaming on the on the cover of November's Vogue, Hathaway describes her dealbreakers as “Uh . . . fraud?” and breaks into a hearty laughter.
I hate talking about the breakup, because I don’t want it to define me -- Anne Hathaway
Anne’s transformation with ‘Rachel Getting Married’
The silver-screen princess has now taken to more serious roles in cinema, and she thinks the transformation happened after ‘Rachel Getting Married.’
Playing Kym, the eternally rehabbing sister of Rachel in the 2008 drama, Hathaway paved her way to a different genre of screen roles. Besides an Oscar nomination, the role also won her wide critical acclaim.
Currently she is about to wrap ‘Love and Other Drugs’ (in which she stars alongside Jake Gyllenhaal), and move on to filming for the romantic drama ‘One Day.’
Nudity? Hope the audience accepts it
Talking about her steamy scenes with Gyllenhaal in the yet-to-be-released film, Hathaway, 27, says, “These are people who have no trouble taking their clothes off – in a way their bodies are their currency. But they're terrified of exposing their vulnerability – of becoming emotionally naked.”
It is bold, she admits, and hopes the audiences approve of it. “This movie certainly has a lot of nerve. Oy. I hope that audiences are OK with all the nerve,” she said.
Her character is complex, but she can identify with it. “I heard her voice so strongly in my head, and when that happens I just can’t tune it out,” the actress explains about her character in the upcoming movie. “She feels like a girl you might actually know.”
Trust issues with ex
The movie portrays the importance of trust in a relationship, and such a plotline made the recently-deceived Hathaway all the more emotional.
“I was a wreck from start to finish. I think I cried every single day,” she reveals. “I had to lean so much more heavily on everyone around me than I’m used to. I’m used to pulling my own weight. But I totally fell apart.”
Now, she does not want to remain grasped in those memories. “Gosh, I hate talking about the breakup, because I don’t want it to define me,” she said. “But as is to be expected, there were a lot of lingering trust issues.”

And where does she herself in the next decade? Hathaway thinks she’d be content and at peace with herself. “As you get older is that there’s a mellowing, an acceptance that comes with time,” says the actress. “I guess that I’ll find out.”
