Popular entertainer Eddie Fisher, who was also known for his high-profile marriages, has died. He was 82. Fisher died of complications from hip surgery, according to reports.

Singer dies
Fisher died in Berkeley, California, on Wednesday due to complications and a decline in health from recent hip surgery, reports ABC News, citing his family as saying in a statement on Thursday.
"He was loved and will be missed by his four children: Carrie, Todd, Joely, and Tricia Leigh as well as his six grandchildren. He was an extraordinary talent and a true mensch," said the statement.

Fisher--the singing legend
Born in Philadelphia on Aug. 10, 1928, Fisher was the legendary singer whose hits included Thinking of You, Any Time, and Oh, My Pa-pa.
Fisher's singing and good looks made him a teen idol in the 1950s.
Fisher, who started as a nightclub singer, recorded dozens of songs that made it to the top 40 and four that reached No. 1 on the pop charts between 1950 and 1956.
He also landed roles on television shows and in feature films like "Butterfield 8," "Nothing Lasts Forever," and "Bundle of Joy."
Fisher married multiple times
But Fisher may be best remembered for his failed marriages. He was married five times in all.
In 1955, Fisher married actress-singer Debbie Reynolds, known as "America's Sweetheart." Together, they had two children--Carrie and Todd.
In 1958, he left Reynolds, then just 26, for Elizabeth Taylor, whose husband movie producer Mike Todd was killed in a plane crash.
The move was considered in Hollywood at the time to be one of the century's biggest celebrity scandals.
Fisher and Taylor wed in Las Vegas in 1959 and adopted a child together. But, in 1962, Taylor dropped him when she fell in love with Richard Burton.
Fisher also was married to Terry Richard, Betty Lin, and actress Connie Stevens, with whom he had two more children.
He was also romantically linked to such big stars as Marlene Dietrich, Ann-Margret, Kim Novak, Dinah Shore, and Angie Dickinson.
Fisher’s tumultuous personal life included substance abuse. He suffered addictions to prescription drugs, cocaine, and methamphetamine.
