John Mayer insists no 'second chance' with Jennifer Aniston

Misinterpreting the comments made by the singer during his performance at the Hollywood Bowl last Sunday, the Huffington Post reported that Mayer and Aniston, who parted ways early last year, could have possibly gotten back together.

John Mayer is furious over reports that suggested he is trying to win back ex-flame Jennifer Aniston. The singer has flatly denied getting back with Aniston again, and has slammed the outlet that first sparked the speculation.

Misinterpreting the comments made by the singer during his performance at the Hollywood Bowl last Sunday, the Huffington Post reported that Mayer and Aniston, who parted ways early last year, could have possibly gotten back together.

Publication misunderstands John’s statement
According to the publication, Mayer said, “I believe in second chances” and “If you really love someone, just tell them and be with them.”

The second chance, they thought, was in reference to the singer’s former girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston.

“John is still friends with Jen, but they are not dating again.”

But Mayer clarified what he actually meant to say. “Let’s break it down: I don’t think I ever said, ‘I believe in second chances!’ but I can’t be 100 percent sure, as it’s possible I could have accidentally said something succinctly and to the point,” the singer wrote on his blog.

“The next sentence is from the song ‘Half of My Heart,’ in reference to the idea that meeting new people allows for hiding old mistakes.”

Mayer blasts the false reports
While clarifying his situation though his Tumblr.com blog, Mayer also blasted the website for posting bogus reports about him. He labeled the website to be “the internet Death Star” and said the staff writer who penned that fictional stuff was like “a stripper wearing reading glasses.”

Following Mayer’s blog post, The Huffington Post updated its story, but again wrote that the singer “does not deny that he and Aniston are dating.”

Concluding his blog, Mayer suggested a possible headline for The Huffington Post’s story about his response to its first article.
“'JOHN MAYER SLAMS HUFFPO:' GO F*** YOURSELF!” he wrote.

John Mayer is single!
Later, during his Tuesday’s concert in Irvine, Calif., Mayer addressed the issue again. This time he left no scope for false speculations.

"I'm completely single!" he told the crowd.

Letting out a rather slapstick rant about his love life, the 32-year-old singer told the crowd he has a morning ritual of watching naughty Internet videos. And that, he said, “is the dirty truth.”

An insider confirmed to UsMagazine.com that John and Jennifer are no more an item. “John is still friends with Jen, but they are not dating again. She was not at the Hollywood Bowl show he played, but it would not mean anything if she were. They remain friends but are definitely not back together.”
