Band’s recent and upcoming gigs
The band, who supported electro-pop duo La Roux on tour last year, had performed at the three-day event in Hasselt before his death, and was scheduled for an appearance in Austria Saturday before beginning a tour of Britain in the fall.
The London-based trio, who played the Glastonbury and Bestival festivals last year, were also set to play at the Parklife festival around Australia in September and October.
According to a report by NME, a day after the tragedy the band’s cohort La Roux dedicated their performance at the U.K.'s V festival to singer Charles Haddon.
"Yesterday a friend of ours died. His name was Charley and he was from Ou Est Le Swimming Pool. They supported us on tour, and he died yesterday at Pukkelpop. So the whole of the set is for him really," La Roux singer Elly Jackson said. "Can we have a big hand for Charley please?"
The second tragedy of the event
Haddon was the second artist to die at the event. A member of a US band suffered a heart attack backstage at Pukkelpop and died on Thursday, according to AP.
Michael Been, the 60-year-old frontman for the U.S. group The Call, died of an apparent heart attack at the festival in the town of Hasselt, while working as soundman for his son’s band, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club.
Ou Est Le Swimming Pool had released three singles. The trio had released their third single, 'Jackson's Last Stand', in July, and had announced that they would release their debut album, 'Christ Died For Our Synths' in October.
