With 5712175 followers, the 24-year-old wild-styled has not only gained the top slot on Twitter, she has also dethroned Britney Spears, by a big margin, nearly 17927 followers.

Spears had outdone Ashton Kutcher to become the most followed user in May. But with Lady G gaining popularity, Spears' dominance could only last a mere three months.

As numbers stand right now, Spears has some 5.6 million followers, closely followed by the American actor, 5.5 million followers.

The 'Alejandro' singer, who in July had 10 million fans, has witnessed her fan base grow by more than 6 million on Facebook over the month, thus making her the most liked popular living person on the social networking site.

Gaga takes over all forms of social media
Lady Gaga not only reigns on Twitter. In fact, her popularity spans all forms of social media.

With a huge fan base, the pop sensation is more liked than President Barack Obama, according to British statistics site FameCount.com.

Apart from rating Gaga as a famous musician, the social-network statistics site has also declared the star the most popular person living or dead across all social media sites.

The eccentric singer has around 331,826 subscribers on YouTube.

Reciprocating love
There is no doubt that Gaga is a terrific performer but what segregates her from many others is the way she reciprocates the love that fans show towards her.

For instance, earlier last month, at the free concert in Rockefeller Center, New York City, Gaga had sent out pizzas to the fans who had been camping out for days for her performance.

Of late, the influential artist took to her Twitter feed saying, “Haven't left the studio. Each song I write, I feel closer to you. Miss you little monsters, little inspirations. X .”

Mama Monster thanks fans
On being crowned the queen of Twitter, 'Mama Monster' tweeted the news and posted the link to the YouTube video, thanking fans for all their support.

In an inaugural message, shot backstage at The Monster Ball in Tacoma, Gaga can be seen donning a magical wand and saying, “I wanted to thank all of my beautiful little monsters for following me. Thank you for beginning my reign as Twitter queen.”

“Just remember that I love you and love yourself. I love you Twitter," adds Gaga.

Amid the video, she receives a message on walkie talkie that she has to be onstage for a performance. To this, Gaga replies that she is “doing a twitter video.”

Responding to the news that pop star has reign Twitter, thousands of her fans took to various blogs and sites, hailing the new Twitter queen.

For instance a fan named MACandCHEESE007 commented on the video, “omg gaga, this is amazing ilove ilove it!! durling your so cute!! your freaking amazing and no one can talk you down because your a great person ilove you to mother monster.. your the best person on this earth!”

Likewise another Little Monster named LexieeLambert stated, “the queen of twitter and the queen of my heart. tis video is so adorableee :D love u mama monster.”
