iPhone users sexually more attractive than BlackBerry, Android phone users?

Among the various camera brands, Panasonic was rated top in its class, followed by Canon, and Nikon. The devices not recommended for photography are all kinds of phones, except iPhone.

Does the smartphone you're carrying perk up your chances of attracting the opposite sex? Well, it might if you are an iPhone user.

According to a new study by OkCupid, the online dating site, Apple's smartphone users are “having more sex” than BlackBerry, or Android phone users.

iPhone pictures enhance looks?
Wondering what the co-relation between an iPhone and having more sex is ? The study states that iPhone takes better pictures than BlackBerrys or Android phones, thus making one more attractive.

In fact, it adds, “The type and brand of camera you use has a huge effect on how good you look in your pictures.”

Of course, the research is done by online dating site, an area of internet that cannot be trusted completely, but the study has come up with interesting numbers.

iPhones users have more sexual partners
For the study, the researchers enrolled 9,785 people with smart phones, and analyzed the sexual activity among the various smartphone users.

They found that men with iPhone had on an average 10 sexual partners by the age of 30, when compared to BlackBerry users, who had 8, and Android users, who had just 6 partners in the same time frame.

The numbers were even startling in case of women. The women iPhone users had approximately 12 partners, as against BlackBerry, and Android phone users who had 8.8 partners, and 6.1 partners respectively, by the age 30.

Other revelations
Apart from comparing the smartphones, the researchers also studied the different types and brand of cameras.

They found that more complex a camera, better is its picture quality, adding that interchangable lens cameras (like digital SLRs) makes one look attractive.

Among the various camera brands, Panasonic was rated top in its class, followed by Canon, and Nikon. The devices not recommended for photography are all kinds of phones, except iPhone.

Another study finding highlighted is that the use of flash in camera makes one looks older by bringing out “wrinkles, blemishes, devil eyes,” which the soft light conceals.

It also states that the best time to take pictures is between 5 in the morning to 6 in the evening. The optimal time is afternoon.

Study stirs discussion
Though the research, not conducted by a scientific journal, should be taken with a pinch of salt, it has already stirred discussion online, with many debunking study findings.

A reader named Ryan commented on OkCupid's official blog, “What is people with more expensive cameras (m4/3 and dSLRs) simply have more money for clothing or cosmetics, or for some other reason just are more attractive? Then buying a better camera would not cause the people in photos to look more attractive. There are lots of explanations for this data that are glossed over.”

The numbers were even startling in case of women. The women with iPhone had approximately 12 partners, as against BlackBerry, and Android phone users who had 8.8 partners, and 6.1 partners respectively by the age 30.

“Could having a better camera mean that the owner is more of a professional photographer, thus resulting in a better picture?,” stated a user named Brent on the same site.

Another user by the name Jeremy Miller argued that iPhone users having more sexual partners does not denote that they have more sex. “Having 10 one night stands is not more sex than my girlfriend and I having sex 10 times a week or more,” adding “I’ll stick to Android users.”
